being part of the varsitarian summer staff was not easy. although we enjoyed the perks and food a lot, our work compensated for it. we have to bear the agony of going to school a number of times a week (some even makes it everyday) in this season called summer. we go to office to work out our articles. suffer the sight of jampacked corrections and the constant pangungulit of our editor to fill up missing information that are badly needed to make a fair and balanced article. what really pisses me off is the grueling legwork we have to deal with. interviews, interviews, and interviews. i always have to get the right person to ask questions with. may ibang madaling hagilapin, pero may mga taong parang palos sa sobrang dulas at hindi mo talaga mahagilap. and for your information, us seniors still have to brawl with our ojt hoping to finish it before classes begin. i cannot help but salute all incoming senior staffers who sees to it that they drop by at the office to check their articles after their ojt. it's a clear sign of dedication. hindi ka tatagal sa varsi kung wala ka niyan. i'm glad that even after a stressful day of work, we can even have small chitchats with our fellow staffers or drop by mcdo to eat ice cream. the varsitarian is definitely a different world. it's way way beyond other organizations. even though i'm still an officer of the artlets economics society, wala sa kalingkinan ng dedikasyon at pagmamahal ng mga staffers sa varsi ang ibang orgs. apart from our busy lives, we still have to deal with the possibility that we, or one of us will not be able to make it to the official staff for next school year. madrama talaga, pakiramdam ng lahat hindi sila papasa. yup, you heard it right, even though we passed the qualifying and specialization exams and the interview, we are not regular staffers yet. we have to prove to the selection committee that we are worthy to become one by attending all summer's activities and by doing good in two issues. sobrang challenge talaga. isang hindi pag-attend sa outing, on probation ka na. the work's really demanding. it eats a lot of your time, even your guts and ego. akala mo magaling kang magsulat pagpasok mo, pero akala mo lang talaga yon.

after the staff announcement last may 31...

at last, i'm officially IN it. it feels good to know that your hardwork finally paid off. although, i expected to be in the list, my ears clapped by hearing my misspelled name (marie, it's not maria! darn!). i'm still in the special reports section, with jam of course. and we're the only ones in the section with vain jordan as our editor. fyi, he's also the editor of the news section! 3 js, jordan, jam, and jeanette..hehe.

ang malupet na ojt

nung una, nung mgsstart pa lang ako maghanap ng ojt, optimistic pa ako na makakahanap ng "good experience in a good company". Kaso..heto..dumating si varsitarian...demanding kse sha...khit di pa kme...I applied sa jollibee center but then nag-backout ako...secretly because i saw a batchmate of mine assisting the hr officer in giving exams for the applicants including myself....la lang...nahiya ako. At dahil wala pang vacant slot sa stock exchange, and varsi interruptions started to settle in, i opted to have my first 100 hrs sa department of education division of rizal...its justa 1 minute walk from our house..as in mga 35 steps lang ang tinatahak ko.

Itinerary Report
First Week:

sobrang batong-bato as in malaking BATO ang nangyari sakin non. My work was soooo clerical as in taga-file ng mga documents mula sa iba't-ibang lugar ng rizal....naiiyak na nga ako pag nakatunganga ako at walang ginagawa...alam mo naman ako...mahilig magpaskil ng "BUSY" sign...i was full of regrets nung tym na 'yon.hindi ko naappreciate yung mga pinagagawa sakin.it was so overly clerical..imagine nyo na lang..naiintindihan k nman kse provincial office yun e..kaso i didn't expect na ganon mangyayari sakin don...ang compensation ko lang ay malapet house nmen..pwede akong umuwi ng lunch time..and i can go back late na..

Second week:

*toottoot..toottoot* hell, i'm in caylabne beach resort, please leave your message after the beep *toot*

3rd week:

Shuffle,shuffle,shuffle...akala ko cards lang ang shina-shuffle...pati papel pla shina-shuffle din...well i think it's a shuffle week...and pakshet i hate papers!

4th week:
..and varsi interruptions started settling in...2 says and a half legworking for my article...and this is the last week that i will suffer in that darn office...ang sama ko tlaga, khet na ganun don, nilibre pa ako nina ate jane ng lunch somewhere out there in taytay..na suprisingly, after 17 years, dun lang ako nkapunta don...it was my last day sa deped rizal...masarap tlga ang libre...ang regret ko lang, di ako mashadong nkipagbonding sa mga secretary don...feel ko iniisip nila na suplada ako kse di ako masalita...well, ganon lang tlaga pag overly-bored ka...pero i admit, madami akong natutunan sa kanila...ang linya na hindi ko makakalimutan ay yung sinabi ni ate jane na kapag nagttrabaho ka na, mamimiss m tlga mag-aral...kse feel ko ganun din mangyayari sa akin...well, what can i say, ciao!
